A baby registry is not really the thing for you to thank people. My thanks must go in person, baby shower, or by e-mail to the person. Besides the fact that nobody pays much attention to his case (not seen many others do not look too closely at the comments), thanks to the people there are terribly impersonal.
Not necessary to have a major announcement about the name of the child.
